It is so sad to contemplate - too sad. I think that is why all of the 70+ 80+ year olds now in (that I know) are depressed and clutching to this generation idea because they don't want to die in this system.

One relative of mine said she knows something is wrong, but knows its the truth still.

I have a 94 year elderly sister friend that I’ve known for about 45 years. She still pioneers and has relatively good health. She told me she knows for a fact that she will not die because she has sacrificed everything and Jehovah will reward her for all her sacrifices. I will never tell her the truth at this point. What good would it do?

Leo Greenlees was forced out of Bethel in 1984 for practicing pedophilia. Seems he was fooling around with a ten year old boy, got caught, and the parents complained to the Society.
The questions proliferate. Why did the GB not disfellowship Greenlees Clearly, Greenlees had committed fornication, so how did he get out of punishment for that? does it have more sinister implications, such as a desire to cover up gross sexual immorality on the part of other Watchtower officials?

I don't think at that point in your life you would want to entertain any new ideas or possibilities. It would behoove you to delude yourself for the remainder of the voyage.
Life could be brutal or soon over standing on a street corner begging with a tin cup at 80.

It pays to keep in mind that thousands of people all over the world are living off the proceeds of the Watchtower Corporation.
So for some there is no hope of escaping. So sad but so true.

They have no where else to go to build new relationships at that point in life. The JWs are their entire network. Doc
I think so Doc, At some point a person has to surrender and bow down in defeat.
